The Quick And Easy Way To Play Your Favorite Songs In Just Minutes
Guitar tablature (or guitar tabs) have made things so much easier when it comes to learning how to play songs on guitar. A simple and easy method that you will pick up in no time. There are lots of web sites that offer free tabs for hundreds of different songs. You learn where to put your fingers and not what notes to play as with other methods. The tab diagram is made up of 6 lines that represent each string, the low E string is at the bottom of the diagram. Don't forget that bit. It took me a while to figure out why the song I was trying to play sounded terrible. Yes, I was doing it all up-side-down. One of my many blonde moments! The notes or chords are indicated by a number on one of the lines.
Here is an example of how tab (or tablature) works. You will see that the strings are lettered from highest to lowest going down the right hand side of the table.
The fret you play is numbered on the lines. For example, the first number is 0 (zero) and it is on the low E string. The zero means an 'open' note. The next number is 4 and it is also played on the low E string. Then follow the numbers on their corresponding strings. It's not as hard as it looks is it? Once you get the general idea and practice some more, you'll then be ready to start looking for your favorite tabs.
