Yes.... Fleetwood Mac (minus Christine McVee) are on their way. I've watched some of the bootleg vids on You Tube and man...are they awesome! No big massive production, millions of flashing lights or hundreds of dancers. It's just the four remaining members, plus a few back up singers, percussionists and behind the scene guitarists and that's Fleetwood Mac. No wonder they've outlasted alot of the junk bands that have come and gone over the years. These guys are there for the music, the passion and to entertain us and are having a good time dong it. It's a combination of a few different ways I taught myself to play guitar all those years ago. I didn't have much patience, I still don't! so I wanted to take as many short cuts as possible.My dad brought me a ukelele and a 'Learn To Play Spanish Guitar' book when I was 7 years old and I followed a few of the easier exercises as I went through the book. All the little black dots on the lines looked like too much hard work so I stuck to easier stuff.As I learnt more I started to hear certain pieces of music in my head (no I wasn't a psychotic child) and I began to play those as well. Over the years I jammed with alot of different people and the story goes on.The Quick Start Course is very simple and effective and it will have you at least playing your first song on the first day. The secret is to go over the exercises repeatedly and expand to other notes etc yourself. Combine the chord patterns and make your own patterns up and whalla! You're playing your first song! Aug 6, 2009, To Those We've LostI thought I would put together a little piece on the significance of losing some of our most talented, and never to be replaced, artists.It's sad to think that they were all lost when they still had so much to offer us as fans.Sometimes the rigours of being a 'star' doesn't help with the life style choices but you have to stop and think that they all knew what they were doing at the time and was their weaknesses really the blame for their downfalls? Who knows? The fact of the matter is that we will never really know what happened to them. You can't believe the rubbish that is fed to us through the media all the time. As a matter of fact, I don't believe any of their 'stories'. They're all out to make money from someone elses bad luck. I remember where I was when I heard Elvis died and again, just recently, with Michael Jackson.Two legends and great performers with so much talent and so much more to offer us. Not to mention some of the other well known performers that have succumbed to drugs, accidental death and illness over the years. It's sad to lose anyone at any time, but somehow, we are effected so much more by the emotion that is felt by everyone else around the world.To think of all the performances that were never performed. How much have we missed out on?
