About MeHi, my name is Lea and welcome to my ABOUT ME! page....... My initial intention for this site was to share my experience and knowledge with people of all ages and guitar playing levels and help them to get started by learning how to play guitar with a quick and easy method. From there I got the idea of sharing my industry knowledge as well. So, now the Ultimate Guitar Studio is an information site as well that covers as many aspects as possible of the music industry. So what is it about me that's interesting? My music career started in 1985 in my first band in Sydney called ’Backchat’. A friend of mine was asked to join a band and she said she would only if she could bring me along too. That was the break I needed. Gone were the days of singing into my mums carpet sweeper handle and playing my tennis racquet like a guitar. Backchat played mostly covers and a few originals and we had an absolute blast in the three years we were together. From there I joined a band in Wollongong called ‘The Great Bite’ who was a covers band with aspirations to play originals. It was in that band that I learned the most about being a guitarist and a professional musician, oh, and I also met my future husband! He was the head of the crew and did the light show for the band. After another three years, there was a bit of a falling out, so, my then fiancé and I, left the band and moved on in life. There's been a few short stints in other bands in between getting married and having babies etc. Over the past 20 years or so, I have been in and out of different music projects and am now concentrating on some home recording and this website! as well as some home business ventures in Internet Marketing. Anyway, with all the time both my husband and I have spent in the music industry both on stage and behind the scenes, I thought that helping and encouraging others was the best way to put all of that knowledge and wisdom to good use. I created the 'Quick Start' program to give a very easy and free introduction on how to play the guitar. The notes and chord system I have used is brief but it was exactly the same method I used when I first picked up a guitar when I was 7 years old. I have also worked in the industry as a booking agent and have toured with a few bands on the production team. Music for me is a passion. If there was no music in my life at least everyday, I would go nuts. I love being creative and inventing new riffs and songs and moulding them into a song. It's the best therapy a person can have. I would really love to hear from other musos about their experiences and it would be great to hear their stories too.
